Evi Hanssen (Zoersel, November 9, 1978) is a Flemish singer and host.
Hanssen grew up together with her three older brothers near Antwerp. She started her career as a background singer in the Samson and Gert Christmas Show and later played Sofie, the niece of Modest at the age of 16. Hanssen was choosen first runner-up on the beauty pageant 'Look of the year' in 1996. After graduating high school, she studied at the 'Jazzstudio' in Antwerp and earned her degree as a singer in the Jazz-music at the music school.
During April 2001 Evi Hanssen started working as a vj on TMF Flanders, where she, together with Elke Vanelderen, presented the 'Boobietrap'. She also presented a few big festivals. Hanssen was able to interview Lenny Kravitz and Justin Timberlake. In the summer of 2002 she was asked to replace Yasmine at the show 'At the table', she also had regular appearances in the show 'The Swingpalace'.
Her debut single "Down as she goes" with her new band Hookers Green immediately became the theme song of Greenpeace Belgium. It's a song about the end of the world in every possible way. During October 2003 Hanssen left TMF to concentrate on her music. She worked on a theatre-jazz project and on a Dutch album with Patrick Hamilton. She was employeed by Radio Donna, VRT, Sporza. She voiced Dr. Liz Wilson in the Dutch version of Garfield. Hanssen is currently employeed by VTM
Hanssen married in September 2005 with Fred di Bono, punkmusician en lead singer of the Belgian format Silverene. Together they founded production house Bonhanssa op. They are currentely divorced parents of two children.
